Our family Singalong Christmas Carol event on the 19th December in Mickleover, includes a LANTERN PROCESSION.  This is a very important part of our event as we will be lighting up the night sky with our lanterns showing Sam how loved and missed he really is; our very own Mickleover superhero! We want as many people as possible joining in this procession. So let's make Sam proud and get the dark night sky LIT up with LIGHT and LOVE!

You will need to bring your own lantern, so we have pulled together some great ways to make your own, scroll down for links. We have also included below some useful information for the procession.

BRING WITH YOU: Lantern and torch. Please use a battery t-light, no naked flames for safety reasons. It can be any type of lantern you wish, a bought one, a homemade one, anything goes!! We will be selling a really cute glow stick STAR wand, but we only have limited numbers of these, so make sure you get their in plenty of time to buy it if you would like one.

DRESSING UP: Wrap up warm, and wear shoes that you don't mind getting a bit muddy! We would also love to see any Christmas outfits, or hats! Stars, sheep, shepherds, wise men, Mary, Joseph, donkeys are very welcome!

DOGS: Well behaved dogs who will be calm in crowds of people are very welcome! Sam's dog Daisy will be coming along! There will be fireworks at the end of the event, but these are low noise. The noise level is equivalent to that of a passing car.

START TIME: The procession will leave at 17:30 prompt. It will be lead by a very special person.....uuummmm who could this be!

LOCATION: Old School Community Tea Room's / Library car park on Holly End Road.

ROUTE: The procession will go down Vicarage Road to the park, and take around 15 to 20 minutes. Road closures are in operation for the 20 minute period.

ON ARRIVAL: We should arrive at Vicarage Park around 17:50 and you will be able to buy hot and cold drinks (including hot chocolate!) delicious handmade cakes, and we also have a beautiful craft stall, which got rave reviews at the Mickleover Christmas Festival together with a tombola, raffle and lucky dip!

CAROL SINGING START TIME: 18:15 approx

LANTERN MAKING: A few ideas for you are below. Don't forget you can also use greaseproof paper instead of wax paper. You don't just need to use leaves, let the kiddies use their imagination to create something very special!

We can't wait to see you there, let's make Sam proud!
